Be the Church that God desires

This is the song of my heart at the moment. It's a new song Hillsong wrote that will be released in July. Pay close attention to the lyrics:

Open our eyes to see the things that make Your heart cry
To be the Church that You would desire
The light to be seen

Break down our pride
And all the walls we've built up inside
Our earthly crowns and all our desires
We lay at Your feet

Let hope rise
And darkness tremble
In Your holy light
That every eye will see
Jesus our God
Great and mighty to be praised

With everything, With everything
We will shout for Your glory
With everything, WIth everything
We will shout forth Your praise

Our hearts they cry
Be glorified
Be lifted high above all names
For You our King
With everything
We will shout forth Your praise

This song is so incredibly powerful. It cuts right to my heart every time we sing it. My cry and prayer is that we, as a body of believers, would be the Church that God desires. We should be a church of praise. We should be lifting God's name with our loudest voices. I pray that our desire would be to have Him be glorified above everything. I pray that with everything we would live for Him. I pray that our church worship would not be a performance. I pray that our church services would not be a show. But my hope is that every church, the Church would bring light to the dark corners of the world. My hope is that we would come together as a body and worship God's name with honest, raw, and humble worship. Where two or more are gathered, there God is with them. The Church exists to proclaim the name of Jesus. It is planted for people to come and worship as they are. Let's humble ourselves and worship God with hearts as one. Let's come to Him with everything. Let us shout forth His glory with arms raised high.
